FOIL Request Details

Via the New York Freedom of Information Law, I am requesting the financial disclosure statements for YIDA President James Cavanaugh for the fiscal years 2021 and 2022. As these disclosures are submitted to the Board of Ethics, the Law Department should be in possession of them as it has oversight of that Board.

Please advise if COY does not have these records and if they can be requested via the YIDA or another oversight body.

In response to your FOIL request please, and more specifically as it relates to the 2022 financial disclosure statement of James Cavanaugh, Corporation Counsel hereby certifies that after a diligent search no records responsive to your request exist. With respect to your request for the 2021 financial disclosure statement of James Cavanaugh, please find the attached 2021 financial disclosure form. Please be advised that the documents were redacted pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 87(2)(b) which enables an agency to withhold records that “if disclosed would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.” As such, the names of family members and their places of employment that are not with the City of Yonkers have been redacted.
